Common questions

How do I take a reading?
Watch the seconds tick on screen, tap the moment your watch shows a full second, and set what it showed. Then say where the watch rested since the last reading. No account or setup required.
Is this a timegrapher?
No. It does not listen to your watch through the microphone and it does not measure amplitude or beat error. It measures how far off the watch is, day after day, and solves a rate for each resting position from those readings.
Why does it ask which position the watch rested in?
A mechanical watch runs at a different rate in each position. Once the app has a rate for two or more positions, it can tell you which one to use overnight so tomorrow’s deviation is smallest.
Does it work with a quartz watch?
Yes. Quartz movements barely change with position, so the app skips the position engine and shows a single rate with the same projection.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Watch Log has no accounts and no analytics; nothing leaves your phone.
How do I manage my subscription?
In your device's Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
